One of the traditional activities at the Kumbha Mela is imbibing wisdom from spiritual teachers. During the Maha Kumbha Mela in 2001, Panditji had invited many swamis to our campus. They all addressed the crowd, but one in particular told a story worth remembering. Listen to Panditji tell the Parable of the Chick Pea.

Such a beautiful story. Thank you, Sandy, and jai to all our teachers who keep planting the peas… Funny, we had chick peas (chana masala) for lunch yesterday at HI Buffalo and spent a lot of time talking about them… In a more mundane way, of course. ;-)

Thank-you Panditji for sharing the parable of the chickpea. It has been a while since I heard you speak (as I was at The Institute in Pa. in the 90′s and heard you once on Denver). Nonetheless, this morning as I prepare for the day, this lesson reverberates and will carry me through the afternoon.
