On The Way To The Mela
Republished from the Kumbha Mela Times

The Maha Kumbha Mela is a feast for the senses as well as the mind and spirit.
Sadhus, swamis, and pilgrims from all walks of life converge at the Sangam where the Ganga, Yamuna, and Saraswati Rivers meet in Allahabad during the auspicious month of January, 2001. An estimated 30 million people will pass through the Maha Kumbha Mela before the festival ends in February.
Whatever their circumstances or their religious beliefs and practices, all share a profound reverence for the Ganga and the Saints and Sages who have convened to share their wisdom.
